Playing a schedule as tough as theirs, the Colorado Rockies don't usually enjoy a laugher.

Friday night was an exception.

The Rockies busted out the bats and beat down the Atlanta Braves, 11-5, Friday night at SunTrust Park.

After spotting the Braves a 1-0 lead in the first inning, the Rockies put up a three-spot in the third on Ian Desmond's RBI triple.

Then in a four-run sixth, Chris Iannetta came through with an RBI single and Charlie Blackmon chased Iannetta home with a triple and the rout was on.

Desmond's two-run single in the eighth gave him five RBIs in the game. He finished with three hits in five at-bats.

Blackmon and D.J. LeMahieu each went 3-6 with two RBIs.

Kyle Freeland lasted six innings. He allowed one run on three hits with one walk and nine strikeouts.

The Rockies look for their third straight win in the four-game series on Saturday. Coverage starts at 4:30 p.m. MDT on 630 KHOW.
