It was an absolutely classic game.

Two teams locked in the winner-moves-on-loser-goes-home battle for the N.L. Wild Card.

The Colorado Rockies are movin' on.

The Rockies defeated the Chicago Cubs, 2-1, in 13 innings to win the National League Wild Card and advance to the National League Division Series against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Tony Wolters grounded an RBI single to center field to score Trevor Story in the top of the 13th inning

The Rockies scored in the first inning on Nolan Arenado's sacrifice fly.

In the eighth, the Cubs tied the game at 1-1 on Javy Baez's RBI double.

The game was left to the bullpens and the Rockies finally broke through in the 13th.

With two outs and nobody on, Trevor Story singled. Gerardo Parra singled and Story took third. Wolters groudned a single up the middle off of Kyle Hendricks to bring Story home and give the Rockies a 2-1 lead.

Right-hander Scott Oberg struck out the side in the bottom of the 13th, getting Terrance Gore, Baez and Albert Almora Jr. to end it and send the Rockies to the NLDS.

Rockies starter Kyle Freeland went six-and-two-thirds scoreless innings and gave up four hits, walked one and fanned six to give the Rockies their first postseason win since 2009.
