The Colorado Rockies have reportedly made their first move.

It's one to upgrade first base and improve the offense.

Thursday, multiple reports said the Rockies and veteran infielder had come to terms on a contract. Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports was the first to report it was a two-year, $24 million deal.

Murphy is a 10-year veteran who has played with the Mets, Nationals and Cubs.

In 91 games with Washington and Chicago last year, Murphy hit .299 with 12 home runs and 42 RBIs.

Murphy projects to take over as the Rockies every day first baseman.
