The 2020 Baseball Hall of Fame inudction ceremony has fallen victim to the COVID-19 crisis.
The Baseball Hall of Fame said it is canceling this year ceremony and induction weekend festivities because of the crisis.
The 2020 induction ceremony had been scheduled for Sunday, July 26 in Cooperstown, New York.
Former Rockies outfielder Larry Walker and former Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter were the two players that earned induction from the Modern Baseball Era Committee.
Catcher Ted Simmons and the late players’ union head Marvin Miller -- will also be honored.
Those four individuals will be honored in the summer of 2021, along with any new members who earn induction in this year's voting cycle.
